Lars Binder ... who? Lots of you may ask yourself: Who is this Lars Binder, although you probably have noticed him many times before unconsciously.
As the drummer of „L 14,16“ a multiple-award-winning band he already celebrated successful concerts at home and abroad and was decorated with the „Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik“ by the German trade press.
Now the drummer and componist himself is the front man of his band „Jazz Syndrom“ and is introducing his first CD as a bandleader where he is surrounded by leading musicians of the German jazz scene.
From the musical point of view groove and sound oriented compositions of Lars Binder with partly very personal, sometimes almost chamber musical elements up to highly energized impulsive moments are featured.
During his time in the USA Binder got into contact with Jackie Mc Lean and Ed Thipgen. By now he made himself a name in the German jazz-scene and is performing regularly with musicians like Axel Schlosser, Rainer Böhm, Cecile Verny or Sarah Kaiser.
He is a lecturer at the Berufsfachschule Krumbach for rock, pop and jazz drums since the year 2007.
